Both our girls were born at our home with a wonderful Certified Nurse Midwife
in attendance named Marina Alzugaray. She lives in the Keys, about 2 miles
from our campground, so we of course we were excited to get in a visit with
her. Off we went, around 10 AM.
Marina, and her husband Steve, live on the water in a marvelous, airy, home
with lush tropical gardens surrounding the rear of the house. We spent a
leisurely few hours there catching up on events in our respective lives, sipping
fresh coconut juice, and swimming.
We swam out to a coral reef, now dead and almost like a platform. Doug
and the girls got stung a few times by a group of jelly fish hovering above the
reef. Back at Steve and Marina's the discussion centered on what to do
about the stinging skin. Urine is supposed to take the sting out, but nobody
seemed eager to have Doug pee on them. Doug and Steve made a run to the
store for meat tenderizer, which is also supposed to help. By the time it
was applied, the stinging had subsided pretty much anyway. Below on the left is Marina, and on the
right is Jordan enjoying her coconut.

At the end of the visit, Steve took this shot of us in their gardens.

That evening, Angelika treated us to dinner. "Mangrove
Mama's", directly across US 1 from our trailer park, came highly
recommended and was reportedly moderately priced -- almost everything down here
costs beaucoup bucks -- so off we went. We dined al fresco as we are wont
to do, the food was excellent, and the portions generous. We came away
very stuffed.
