Jordan's friend Remy was scheduled to arrive at 11:20 at the Quebec
airport. She had taken a red-eye from LAX that included a 3 hour layover
in Boston in the middle of the night. We expected her to be a mess, but
she was in great shape, so we drove into Quebec City to feed her and show her
the sights.
Here are the girls, looking very French.

We liked the creperie so much that we took Remy there to get her some
sustenance. the gods of dining smiled on us again, and we got one of the
two window tables. Here is Jody, enjoying a sunny day in the old city.

We got someone to take our picture from outside the restaurant, but
unfortunately we got a blurry picture out of it. Here it is, anyway.

Jody found an "April Cornel" outlet, and looked at everything in
the store. While she did so, Jordan and Remy amused themselves trying on
various combinations of accessories.

Back at the square, we saw another street performer -- this time a juggler,
who was excellent. We watched his whole act, and then gave him $5
Canadian. He had a wonderful routine, where he almost did not talk at all
-- he just used facial expressions and physical comedy. We laughed a lot.

One small alleyway near a church had a row of artists who painted portraits
or did caricatures. We watched the gentleman below have his portrait done
for 30 minutes or so. We were impressed enough by his talents that I asked
(in French) if he had the time to do Joya and Jordan's portrait that day.
Slightly to my surprise, he did not say "Huh?", but rather answered
that this gentleman was his last for the day, but that we could come back
tomorrow.

Jody had noted that we were up at the 47th parallel while navigating us to
Quebec. This sign was amusing to us, given the directions and distances it
indicated.

A shot from the "Break-Neck Stairs", leading from the upper city
down to the "Petit Champlain" district. You can see the ladies
at the bottom of the picture.

When we got back to the trailer, Jordan and Remy did hair stuff for quite a
while, with this interim result:
You can see the bridge over the St. Lawrence river rather clearly in the
background; we were camped virtually under it, with the lovely ambience of
rumbling trucks to keep us company in the evenings.
