We left Patrick's Point and drove almost straight East, through Weaverville into Redding, and then on down I 99 to Paradise, which lies just East of Chico. Jody's father, Carl, lives in Paradise with his wife Sherry. We arrived in the late afternoon, and after some struggling, managed to work the trailer into place in their backyard. Here are Carl, Sherry, and Mandy.
We spent much of the daytime there helping Carl and Sherry get packed up and ready to move to Prescott, Arizona. Evenings were filled with lots of good conversation, good eating, and John Wayne movies. Below, Jordan and Carl got in a Cribbage game or two. Carl is quite the Cribbage player, and managed to just barely beat Jordan :)
Jordan discovered a Raleigh 10-speed that Carl and Sherry were selling. Initially reluctant, after she rode it a bit she was hooked: this was the bike for her! We are bringing it back to Santa Barbara.
