This was a travel day.  We had originally planned on traveling some serious miles that day in a quest to visit with our friend, Joanie Bernard, and her 2 daughters, Cora and Ellen, who are good friends with our girls.  Joanie is going to medical school up in Birmingham Alabama, and the idea was to get to some part of the Florida panhandle roughly below her, in the hopes that she could get away for a day or so and meet us down on the beach there.  Much of the drive was over smaller roads (by choice), so the scenery was interesting.  North Florida is very rural, and very Southern at times.  Lots of very small towns, some seemingly entirely black, and some entirely white.  All very homey, with a sort of warmth about them that was quite compelling.  About two thirds of the way through the drive that day we finally caught up with Joanie, and discovered that she did not have her girls with her at the moment.  So -- change of plan.  We headed Northeast again (after traveling Northwest much of the day), and headed up to visit with Jody's Georgia relations.  By about 7:00 PM, I was tired of driving (it was dark, and thus the scenery was no longer as interesting), so we started looking for an RV Park, and found Kelly's just off I-10, about 4 hours from Savannah.  Located a short distance from the Suwannee River (as in the song), Kelly's was small but had plenty of room, and was very inexpensive at 11 dollars a night.  We parked, unhooked, made dinner and generally relaxed after a long day in the car.
