We drove to the historic town of Jerome, where Jody's Great Grandfather, John
Wesley Oliver, was minister of the Methodist church there during the late 1800s.
The church indicated below is the only Methodist church in town, so this may
have been the building, or it may have been on "upper Jerome", now
gone (explained later).
This is lower Jerome, and part of the historic district now. Lots of
character in this little town -- we all liked it a lot.

Jerome is a recovering ghost town. In the 1800s, its population was
15,000. Early this century, it was down to as few as 50. Now a
tourist destination and "art colony", it seems to be thriving
now. Some old abandoned building remain, to provide color and a place for
the ghosts to sleep.
