February 11/12 - Las Vegas
We made it easily our first day to Lucerne Valley (233 miles), home of Jim
and Diana Sisk, although Doug managed to catch the creeping-crud that Joya and
Jody were down with (Joya's recommended remedy: one tablespoon of Nutella).
Here is a shot of Royanne, Diana, Jim and Christina.

The Sisks are old friends we met via HSC, The
HomeSchool Association of California. Jim runs the best car repair
facility this side of the San Bernadino mountains (pictured below). They
very generously opened up their home to us for a nice long visit. We got to go
to an "indoor" soccer match that Christina was playing in. It wasn't
at all indoor, being in fact outdoors and really cold. However, the match was
fun to watch and our friend, Christina, made a goal and assisted on two
others. Thank you all for a great stay.

The girls got to drive around in the desert in an old US Postal Service
Jeep. Jim went along to provide instruction, and Christina apparently just
wanted to get bumped about.
