After all the driving of the previous two days -- about 600 miles -- we were ready for a rest, and
definitely not looking forward to spending nearly an hour in the car to get to
the City. So we stayed put, and did housekeeping stuff, while the girls
goofed off.
The girls were a bit frustrated with the pool situation. The campground
actually had 2 pools, but we had been warned the day before that only 1 of them
would be open. When the girls went down the first time to swim -- a 10 or
15 minute walk from our campsite -- the only open pool had just been closed,
presumably so that the lifeguard could break for lunch. The girls then
returned around 1:00 PM, when the 'other' pool was scheduled to open. They
were greeted when they got there by the question "Do you know about the
bathing cap rule?" The owners required all females to wear bathing
caps in this pool (the "adult" pool) when they swam. The girls
had no caps, and returned frustrated and a bit disgusted with all the stupid
rules. They never did swim in either of the pools. We consoled
ourselves with the thought that at least this was cheap camping, at about $32 US
for 3 days, with full hookups. The downside was that we were nearly an
hour from Montreal.
