Next: October 3 and 4 - Seattle
I had always though of Washington state as a lush, green place full of
snowy mountains and verdant valleys. Well, some parts of it are indeed
lush and green, but much of the Northern half of the state, between Spokane
and Seattle, is low, rolling sage and chaparral hills -- nearly desert.
We spent most of this day driving for 6 or so hours to get to
Seattle.
We got into Seattle about 7:00 PM, and called Jody's brother and wife, Adam
and Klassy, respectively. As Klassy planned on flying to Arizona very
early the next day, we could only get a visit in with her if we did it that
night. They picked us up in their marvelously maintained Buick Skylark,
and Klassy took us on a whirlwind nighttime tour of Seattle and Bellevue that
culminated in dinner out at a great Italian/Mediterranean restaurant.
Here we all are, at the end of the meal. Photo courtesy of our waiter,
Joseph.
