We continued South from Eugene on I-5, until we hit Grants' Pass, where we
took US 160 towards the Crescent City and the California border. We were
so excited when we crossed that Jordan leaped out and took a picture. This
was our first sight of California soil in just over 8 months.
The winding drive down to US 101 was lovely. About 50 miles South of
Crescent City lies one of our favorite campgrounds, Patrick's Point State
Park. Aside from the breathtaking rugged coastal beauty of the area,
Patrick's Point is the site of HSC's annual campout in the North. HSC is a
statewide Homeschooling support organization. We have fond memories of our
gatherings there.

We were blessed with warm and sunny days -- a bit rare for this part of the
country.

The sun shining through these very wet, dark woods was lovely.

On our way to the beach one day, we stopped to pick and eat wild berries
growing along the path. As you can see from our attire, it was a bit
cooler this day.

The power of the surf was immense. No one was out in the chilly, wild
water.

Jordan simply loves the beach -- any beach, any time. She ran and
skipped about. Being in California, on a California beach, really worked
for her.

A crystal clear sunset.
