We awoke late, and had a leisurely breakfast.  Our big agenda items for the day was to get in some beach time and do laundry.  This was a bit of a departure from our previous plans; we had been operating under the assumption that we had to be in Fort Lauderdale early in the morning on the 10th.  We found that instead we needed to be there on the 11th, so we had an extra day.  After taking care of the laundry, we went in search of a suitable beach, which we found out on South Henderson Island.  The water was 69 degrees -- cool for this area, but fantastic for us Californians.

No one was in the water, so Jody walked down to the life guard to inquire about the beaches here. "How is it? Is it clean?" (That is how people can tell we're from California.) "Is there undertow? Are there sting rays?"  The lifeguard replied the water was a bit cooler than normal. There was a bit of an undertow, but no real problem. No stingrays either. Everything was fine. Then Jody asked, a bit sheepishly, "So, there are no sharks?"  The lifeguard replied" I haven't seen any today.  There are sharks out there from time to time."  So we went down closer to the lifeguard tower so she could keep a lookout for the sharks and we didn't say anything to the girls about it.

On our way back, we shopped for provisions, and found a Blockbuster, this being Saturday and thus "Thomas Family Theater" night.  Each Saturday, if possible, we rent a DVD and watch it.  Our Blockbuster card seems to work nationwide, so there is no hassle.  We had our typically sumptuous meal, and settled in to "Mystery, Alaska".  It was decent -- certainly better than most.  We tried for an early bed time, since we needed to pick up Angelika the next day at 10:47, so we needed to leave by 7:00 AM.
